MADISONBLUE will re-release a leather rider's jacket born from a collaboration with "ISAMU KATAYAMA BACKLASH," a men's leather brand known for its uncompromising pursuit of quality, exclusively at direct-managed stores starting Saturday, September 5th. This item was originally unveiled in the 2022 Autumn/Winter collection and was met with great acclaim.

For designer Mariko Nakayama, the rider's jacket is an indispensable item for styling. The collaboration was born after Nakayama fell in love with a rugged, substantial double rider's jacket by BACKLASH worn by a male friend, leading her to reach out directly to designer Isamu Katayama. The pattern, design, and sizing were re-engineered for women, with meticulous attention paid to even the smallest details such as the buttons, resulting in a piece packed with the essence of MADISONBLUE.

Based on classic details, this rider's jacket features a slightly elongated silhouette and uses domestic white-tanned calf leather. It is characterized by its unique smoothness, lightness, and a moist, elegant oily texture. The body is sewn using undyed leather, then garment-dyed; the finished product is the result of a highly technical and time-consuming process that involves manual, incremental adjustments while carefully calculating the shrinkage rate during the drying process.
Because of this, it may feel slightly tight at first, but it will conform to the body and achieve a personalized fit the more it is worn. It is available in four sizes, 00 to 03, and can also be worn by men.

This reissue has been made possible due to the many requests received from our customers. It is a piece that translates the menswear designs at which Nakayama excels into womenswear, revealing a woman's inner strength within a mannish aesthetic. Pairing it with an elegant silk skirt or slacks completes a look that captures the gap and playfulness characteristic of MADISONBLUE.
